The Ministry of Environment's Pakistan Wetlands Programme WWF-Pakistan
Earth Day is celebrated to remind us of our shared responsibility to protect the planet.

Islamabad- Earth Day 22 April 2010 is observed today by The Ministry of Environment's Pakistan Wetlands Programme WWF-Pakistan team in Margalla Hills National Park Islamabad by solid waste management campaign on Trail 5. Himalayan Wildlife Foundation was also part of this campaign.


The aim of this campaign was to raise awareness among citizens, school children about conserving environment, highlighting environmental issues and sharing responsibility to protect the Earth planet.

There were other activities performed like Birds watching, environment study with nature photography, plants study, and advocacy walk beside solid waste management campaign in Margalla Hills National Park.

Earth Day was celebrated 40 years ago, it reminds us to involve individuals, non governmental and governmental organizations, to protect our planet and enhance conservation struggle.

The wise and sustainable use of earth needs advocacy campaigns, understanding of climate change, education of biodiversity conservation, find alternative energy, protect wetlands, water conservation and more importantly and essentially we have to bring green revolution in our homes, schools and offices for us and for our next generations.
