Wetlands Video Competition

You make a 3 to 7 minute digital film about Wetlands, Biodiversity and Climate Change in Pakistan, and we’ll get the world to watch it.
Your film can be in any digital video format – you can even use your mobile phone. We accept films in any genre, including but not limited to animation, documentary, drama, experimental, art, testimonial, etc.
Videos can be in any local, national language, though contestants are strongly encouraged to include subtitles and a full length script in English, in order to facilitate public outreach and the contest process.

Who Can Join

Anyone who is interested in Wetlands, Biodiversity and Climate Change can join. WWF, PWP employees, consultants and their family members are also eligible to participate.
There are four contest categories:

  1. School Children
  2. Youth (under 21)
  3. Open (21 and over)
  4. Open (all ages)

How to Join
It's easy! You may submit as many entries as you like. All you have to do is follow these steps:

  1. Just send your video in CD or DVD format
  2. Tag your video with your own Title
  3. Fill out this simple online registration form.

That's it! You're done! Good to participate.

Deadline
All entries must be submitted by January 10, 2010. Videos submitted after this deadline will not be considered for competition.

Complete Rules & Conditions

  • Eligibility: anybody who is interested in Wetlands, Biodiversity and Climate Change can join. Participants must produce a short digital film about anything related to above topic in Pakistan, and fill out an online registration form. Employees of the WWF, PWP, Consultants and their families can participate.
  • Deadline for submissions is 10 January 2010.
  • The submitted entry must meet the category outlines as they appear in the competition details.
  • The competition is specifically intended for new films only.
  • We accept films of any production value including mobile phone and films of any genre, e.g. animation, documentary, drama, experimental, art, testimonial, etc. Judges will take into consideration all aspects of the work when making their decision.
  • Entrants may submit more than one entry but each entry must be submitted on a separate application form.
  • The video must be between 3 minute to 7 minutes long.
  • The stories can be provided in any language. However, entrants are strongly encouraged to include subtitles and a full length script in English, in order to facilitate public outreach and the contest process.
  • Each video must be the entrant's original work, in its entirety, and must not contravene on the intellectual property or other rights of any other third party, regardless of country of residence. It is the entrant’s responsibility to clear all aspects of copyright – not only video content, but music and other content as well. If in doubt, do not use. If uncleared material is detected in submitted entries, they will be automatically disqualified
  • We reserve the right to disqualify from the competition any video which violates the copyright or other intellectual property rights of third parties. PWP is not responsible or in any way liable for any violations of copyright or any other unauthorized use of images/graphics/video or other content of submitted videos.
  • Any films containing rude, unlawful, discriminatory or sexually explicit, libelous material will not be accepted. Any film containing promotional material, endorsement or advertising will not be accepted.
  • Award winning applications will be selected following pre-selections done in-house by PWP environmentalists and media experts. Final awards and judging will be made by the judging panel of experts.
  • The judging panel may choose not to award a prize if applications do not meet the minimum standards defined by the panel and the PWP.
  • Decisions taken by the jury should be considered final and cannot be appealed.
  • All winning stories will be published on the PWP website.
  • PWP will accept no liability if aspects of the competition or the competition itself is changed or cancelled.
  • By entering this contest, entrants give PWP the right to use, without restriction, any of the entries, in whole or part, and in any manner or medium, for promotional, in-house, publicity, and any other not-for-profit means. Entrants agree that a condition of entry into the competition is the assignment and transfer of these usage rights, including but not limited to the display, distribution, publishing, transmission, copy, reproduction, or production of derivative works.
  • By entering this contest, entrants agree to give PWP the right to use the entry and the copyright without any fee.
  • Entrants do not waive their intellectual or moral property rights by entering the contest, and will therefore retain the right to be identified as the author/creator of their films.
  • Winning or selected entries may be distributed regionally for broadcasting, if agreement is received from the entrant.
  • By submitting your film you agree to all of the competitions rules and conditions.
